Scanova vs Ok1Second
Scanova sells QR codes by the plan: three codes for $5/month on Basic, ten for $9, fifty for $35. Ok1Second sells one flat plan with unlimited codes. Neither shape is wrong — the choice turns on how many codes you print, whether a trial that stops resolving is acceptable, and whether you want the landing pages and lead capture Scanova builds in.
Scanova figures read from its pricing page on scanova.io/pricing/ on 2026-10-18.

A trial rather than a free plan
Scanova's free tier is its generator for static codes, which have no destination to edit and nothing to resolve. Dynamic codes are sold by subscription, and the way in is a 14-day free trial with no card required.
That trial is generous for evaluating the editor, but its terms are worth reading before you print: Scanova's own pricing FAQ answers what happens when it ends — the dynamic code stops working until a subscription is bought. A code on a menu or a carton cannot wait for that decision.
Ok1Second's free plan does not expire. Three dynamic codes, unlimited scans, destinations editable forever, whether or not you ever pay. If the question is whether a printed code earns its place, that is a difference in kind rather than in degree.
- Scanova: 14-day trial, and its FAQ says the dynamic code stops when it ends
- Ok1Second: 3 dynamic codes free forever, no expiry
The plan is the code count
Scanova's tiers are sized almost entirely by how many codes you get: three on Basic, ten on Lite, fifty on Standard, five hundred on Pro, unlimited only on Enterprise. Everything else is attached to those steps — conditional routing and scheduling arrive at Lite, landing pages at Standard, a custom domain and five users at Pro.
If you know your number in advance, that structure is transparent: a shop needing forty codes can price Standard and stop thinking about it. It also means the price moves every time the print run grows, and a business that adds a second location, a second language or a second product line moves up a tier each time.
Ok1Second has one paid plan and no code count on it. The plan changes when you need something it does not have — not when you create another code.
What $5 a month actually buys
Basic is $5/month billed annually, so $60 a year, for three dynamic codes, twelve of Scanova's twenty-six code categories, no ads and thirty days of analytics. Lite is $9/month for ten codes and the full category list. Standard is $35/month for fifty codes and landing pages. Pro is $75/month for five hundred codes, a custom domain and five users.
Ok1Second's Pro is $4/month, or $20 a year, with no code ceiling and unlimited scans. Put beside Basic it is cheaper per month and cheaper again per year — but the honest comparison is not the subscription line, it is what you need the codes to do. Basic is a smaller product at a slightly higher price; Pro at Scanova is a much bigger one, with landing pages, lead capture and team accounts that this service does not attempt.
Scans are unlimited on both
Worth saying plainly, because it is not universal: Scanova's FAQ states that scans are unlimited on every plan, and Ok1Second does not meter them either. Neither service turns a popular poster into an invoice.
The distinction that remains is what happens when a subscription stops. On both services a dynamic code only works while something resolves its redirect, so the question is not the scan count but the lifetime of the redirect — which is why the next two sections matter more than this one.
Custom domain, and where the redirect lives
Scanova includes one custom domain on Pro, $75/month, and sells further domains at $120 each a year. Ok1Second includes a custom short domain on Pro at $4/month or $20 a year.
Running the redirect on a domain you control is the single most effective way to protect a printed code: if you later move to another provider, the codes keep the same host and the change is a DNS record rather than a reprint. Paying for a domain add-on is therefore not an upsell to skip — it is the part of a QR subscription that outlives the subscription.
- Scanova: custom domain on Pro ($75/month), extra domains $120/year
- Ok1Second: custom short domain on Pro ($4/month or $20/year)
Conditional routing sits higher up the ladder
Routing a scan by country or device is one of the reasons to use a dynamic code at all, and on Scanova it starts at Lite — $9/month billed annually — alongside scheduling and password protection.
Ok1Second includes country, device, OS, browser and language rules on every plan, including the free one. If routing is the whole point of the code for you, that is a real difference in entry price: $9/month against nothing.
Landing pages, lead capture and team accounts
Scanova's larger plans are a marketing toolkit: multi-page landing pages, white-labeling, lead-generation forms, password protection, scheduled destinations, GPS-level scan location and five named users on Pro. If your QR campaign needs a destination page built for it, that is a genuine reason to choose Scanova, and Ok1Second does not offer it — the destination is a URL you control, not a page we host.
The honest framing is that these are different products at the top end. A single-user service that redirects to your own page is cheaper because it does less.
Nonprofits
Scanova offers nonprofits 30% off any plan, on request. Ok1Second gives nonprofits Pro outright — free, verified once, no discount to calculate. The nonprofit page explains how to claim it.
Choosing between them
Choose Scanova if you want landing pages, forms, password protection, scheduled destinations or a five-person account, and you are comfortable with a plan sized by code count.
