How to change the link behind a QR code after printing
Short answer: you cannot change a static QR code, but you absolutely can change a dynamic one — and you can do it as many times as you like, without reprinting. This guide explains why, and how to make sure your printed code never becomes a dead end.

Why static codes can't be changed
A static QR code stores the destination URL inside the code itself. The pattern of squares is the data. To change the destination you would have to change the pattern, which means printing a new code.
This is a hard limit of the format, not a limitation of any particular app.
How a dynamic code makes the link editable
A dynamic QR code stores a short link that you control. When someone scans, their phone requests that short link, our server looks up the current destination, and forwards them on. Editing the destination is a database update, so the printed pattern is untouched.
How to change the destination
Open the code in your dashboard, edit the destination URL and save. The change is live immediately, and every future scan follows the new link.
- Open the manager for the code
- Paste the new destination URL
- Save — no reprint, no downtime
Keep the short link under your control
A dynamic code is only as durable as the short-link domain behind it. Printing a code that points at someone else's domain means you depend on that provider staying online. Where possible, use a service that lets you point the redirect at your own domain.
