Dynamic QR codes for retail and packaging

Packaging has the longest lead time of anything you print. A dynamic QR code lets the box stay the same while the promotion, warranty page or reorder link behind it changes with every campaign.

Campaign changes, packaging doesn't

Swap the destination for seasonal promotions without touching the print run.

Route by region

Send shoppers to the correct regional store, offer or support page automatically.

Measure shelf engagement

Compare scan rates between products and stores to see what converts attention.

Turn the label into a channel

A code on the label connects the physical product to a page you own: instructions, reorder, warranty registration or the current promotion.

  • Product instructions and warranty registration
  • Reorder and refill links
  • Region-specific offers and support pages

Shelf talkers and the price problem

Retail print goes stale faster than any other kind, because prices, promotions and multi-buys change by the week. Every one of those is a reprint when the price is printed, and a destination edit when the price lives on a page.

Shelf-level codes also let a national campaign run with local numbers. The same shelf talker design goes to every store, and a country rule serves the local price and currency without a second print run.

  • Promotion end dates handled by editing the page, not the label
  • Regional pricing and currency served by country rules
  • Shelf talkers carrying the full specification the label cannot fit
  • One code per store when you want per-store scan data

The information a label has no room for

A label carries a name, a size and a price. Everything else customers ask about, from ingredients and care instructions to compatibility and assembly, can sit behind the code without taking a millimetre of shelf space.

Video is the part worth planning for. Assembly instructions, fitting guides and how-to clips answer more questions than a paragraph of text, and they can be replaced when the model changes.

  • Ingredients, materials and care instructions
  • Sizing tables for clothing and footwear
  • Assembly and fitting videos for furniture and equipment
  • Warranty terms and registration on the boxed product

After the sale: returns, reorders and reviews

The code on the receipt, the box or the packaging insert is scanned at the moment the customer is most likely to act: when something is wrong, when they want a second one, or when they are happy and have a minute to spare.

Route each of those to its own page, and keep the review request separate from the returns flow, so a frustrated customer is never handed a five-star prompt.

  • Returns policy and the returns portal on the receipt code
  • Reorder link on consumables and repeat-purchase products
  • Review request on the packaging insert, not the receipt
  • Loyalty sign-up where the customer is already holding the phone

Measuring a shelf, a store and a campaign

One code per store turns a display into a dataset. Which branches scan, which shelf positions get looked at, whether the aisle-end beats the standard shelf: those are all comparisons a code can answer.

For campaigns, per-placement codes separate the shelf from the window, the flyer from the poster, and usually show that one of them is doing all the work.

  • Branch-by-branch scan counts for display compliance
  • Shelf position comparison, aisle-end against standard
  • Campaign placements compared against each other

Frequently asked questions

Will one code work across all my products?
You can use one master code, or one code per product for precise reporting. Both are supported.
Can the destination change after printing?
Yes — that is what makes a dynamic code different from a static one.
Can I direct shoppers to regional stores?
Add country rules so each region lands on the right store or support page.
How small can a QR code be on packaging?
About 1.5 cm square on a flat, matte, well-printed surface, and larger as soon as it is curved, glossy or printed on a flexible film. Test on the real material rather than on paper.
What happens when a promotion ends?
Repoint the code at the standard product page. The labels stay on the shelf and nothing gets reprinted or, worse, left up with a dead price on it.
Can the same product show a different price in each country?
Yes. Add a rule per country, with the default page for everyone else, and one printed label serves every market.
Do we need a code per product or per product range?
Per range is fine while the information is shared. Split into per-product codes as soon as the destinations differ, because one code can only lead somewhere sensible for one kind of buyer.
