Comparing QR code generators: what actually matters
Generators look interchangeable until a printed code stops working. Judge them on the handful of things that decide a code's lifespan, not on the size of the feature list.

The five questions to ask
Ask these before you print anything at scale. The answers separate services that will still be working in two years from the ones that will not.
- Can I edit the destination freely, with no reprint?
- Does the plan meter scans or charge per code?
- Can I route by country, device and language?
- What happens to my codes if I downgrade or leave?
- Do I get real analytics, or just totals?
Pricing models compared honestly
Per-scan pricing punishes success. Per-code pricing punishes scale. A flat fee is the only model where using the product more does not cost more — provided it does not hide a scan cap.
The red flags
Lifetime deals that cannot fund ongoing redirects, trials that disable already-printed codes, and 'unlimited' claims with a monthly allowance in the small print.
